$100,000 Bongs Will Light Your World
Anybody familiar with cannabis culture knows there’s something special about a breathtaking, well-made glass pipe. But a handful of glass artists is taking things to a whole new level. By creating the most mind-blowingly intricate, colorful, and insanely cool glass pipes, these artists are putting the “high” in high art.
This Is Not A Pipe
Although most of us probably can’t afford to go out and buy one of these off the charts pipes, you can still check out what the world’s best glass pipe makers are up to. That’s because a new book is about to be released called This Is Not A Pipe: Evolution of the Glass Pipe and its Artists. The book is a coffee table art book that’s collected the best of the best from the glass pipe scene.
The book highlights the work of a bunch of different glass artists who specialize in the coolest pipes you’ve ever seen. It includes a short bio about each artist. The book also talks a little bit about each artist’s styles and techniques.
But by far the best part about the book is all the photos. That’s what everybody wants to see. This Is Not A Pipe is full of gorgeous photos of the best-crafted glass pieces the world has ever known. And when you see some of these pieces, you’ll start seeing glass pipes in an entirely new light.
The Best Of The Best
One artist goes simply by Buck. His glass work is all about building skeletal structures. The pipes this guy creates are completely nuts. For example, he’s somehow managed to create a pipe that’s designed to look like an intricate piranha skeleton.
Then there’s the glass artist called AK. This glass genius brings together tons of different glass blowing techniques to create super intricate, incredibly colorful patterns and designs.
The book also highlights the work of Scott Deppe. This guy is apparently a legend in the glass community. His pipes will blow you away with their complexity. Some of his work is just a total mindf*ck to even look at, let alone to smoke out of.
And all that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Apparently, there’s a pretty intense scene of dedicated glass artists who have focused on building amazing glass pipes. Of course, whether or not anybody ever smokes out of these amazing pieces of cannabis culture art is a different question. What would you do if you got your hands on a $100,000 piece of glass pipe art?
