Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson was thrown into the cannabis spotlight last fall when the NFL suspended him—not once, but twice. And both times were because he tested positive for marijuana.

But his history with marijuana goes back even further. He was suspended multiple times as a college player at the University of Miami. He even tested positive at the NFL Combine.

After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, Henderson received a physician’s recommendation for medical cannabis.

His career and his many run-ins with NFL officials highlight the controversy surrounding marijuana and professional sports.

On the one hand, athletes like Henderson use cannabis to help deal with health problems and the aches and pains that come from playing sports. But on the contrary, leagues like the NFL continue to ban marijuana.

One way or another, it looks like Henderson isn’t about to give up weed.

Since then, Rebagliati has been an outspoken advocate of cannabis. In 2013, he started his a marijuana company called Ross’ Gold.

And he’s also become something of a spokesperson for weed. Rebagliati has publicly praised the benefits of the plant.

Rebagliati said that weed helps athletes sleep better and recover quicker. He also said it helps athletes relax and manage stress.
