Internet sensation and meme-able personality Danielle Bregoli Peskowitz pled guilty in a Florida court on Wednesday to multiple charges, including cannabis possession, after being busted for weed earlier this year.
Besides cannabis possession, the other charges included grand theft, grand theft auto, and filing a false report.
But how, exactly, did this teen rise to fame?
Who Is Danielle Bregoli Peskowitz?
A native of Florida, 14-year-old Bregoli Peskowitz first rose to fame on the daytime staple Dr. Phil in late 2016, where she appeared on a segment with her mother about delinquent adolescents. During the taping of the episode, she expressed her frustration and disdain with the audience, who she deemed “whores.” She proceeded to threaten them with the phrase “catch me outside, how about that?”
However, her accent—which many have dismissed as artificial at best—mangled her verbiage so much so that it sounded like “cash me ousside, how bow dah?”
The strange and hilarious moment on the show quickly rose to Internet meme status, bestowing instant fame on the unlikely teenager. Since then, she’s garnered more than eight million followers on Instagram, and sponsorship for product placements by companies like Postmates. According to some reports, the teen is predicted to become a bonafide millionaire by the end of the year.
Instant Meme Busted For Weed
Unfortunately, Bregoli Peskowitz’s meteoric rise has likely been derailed due to her newly-minted status as a fledgling criminal. The Internet star was apprehended earlier this summer after stealing her mother’s car and purse, as well as reporting to authorities that her mother is addicted to heroin. (Spoiler alert: she apparently isn’t.)
Presumably, the teen was also caught with upon her arrest.
During court proceedings, her father Ira Peskowitz asked the judge to restrict his daughter’s access to the Internet for fear that she is being preened for a career in pornography by exploitative adults.
There is no word yet as to whether Bregoli Peskowitz will face jail time for her crimes. Considering Florida’s draconian cannabis laws, it’s not looking good.
So, will we be able to catch the “cash me ousside” girl in the public soon? Only time will tell.
