Does Emma Watson Smoke Weed?

When you’re rewatching the “Harry Potter” movies and asking yourself “does Emma Watson smoke weed?” think back to this article.

You’re probably wondering: Does Emma Watson smoke weed? She’s an actress, activist, and an ambassador for the UN Women Goodwill. Like the character she’s most famous for, Watson is a self-admitted perfectionist and overachiever. Does she also get down with the loud?

Who is Emma Watson?

Emma Watson is a British actress who is best known for her portrayal of Hermione Granger in the film adaptations of the “Harry Potter” series. She was born April 15, 1990 in Paris to two English lawyers. When she was five, her parents divorced, and they all moved back to England.

Watson was cast in “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone” in 1999. Since the premiere of that film, she quickly rose to fame. Her twelve-year performance as Hermione Granger was lauded by film critics and fans alike.

During her tenure as Hermione, she starred in two other films: “Ballet Shoes” and “The Tale of Despereaux.” In 2005, she became the youngest person to be on the cover of Teen Vogue; in 2009 she was on the cover again.

During the filming of “Harry Potter,” Watson attended the Headington School in Oxford, England. She has spoken extensively about her education and never taking it for granted.

When she was sixteen, she took the GCSE exam in ten subjects. She got top marks in all of them. After graduating and taking a gap year, she attended Brown University in Rhode Island. Due to her continued acting career, she graduated in five years instead of four.

Her post-Potter career includes films like Sophia Coppola’s “The Bling Ring,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.” She also played an exaggerated version of herself in Seth Rogan’s apocalyptic comedy “This Is the End.”

In addition to her acting career, Watson is a staunch advocate for feminism. In 2014, she was named as a UN Women Goodwill ambassador and launched the HeForShe campaign to encourage men to be feminists.

Puff or Pass?

Hermione Granger certainly didn’t imbibe. But does Emma Watson smoke weed? In interviews, she has freely admitted to drinking alcohol and getting drunk. She is human, after all.

But when it comes to drug use, she has had very little to say on the matter. Watson is known for trying to maintain a certain level of privacy about her personal life. Not an easy goal when she has, quite literally, grown up in the public eye.

In an interview, however, Watson does mention drugs and the use of drugs. She was specifically talking about drug use among Hollywood’s actors and actresses. As a veteran celebrity, she said that she understood why so many of her peers experiment with drugs and later struggle with addiction.

She said that since she’s been working and traveling since she was nine years old, she has had many chances to experiment with drugs. But she has not.

“If I’d wanted to get blind raving drunk I could have done; If I’d wanted to do drugs, I could have done,” she said. “Luckily, I don’t have an addictive personality, and I don’t really drink.”

If she’s ever smoked weed, she’s keeping mum about it. We also can’t ignore the rumor that she allegedly walked off the set of “This Is The End” because her co-star Channing Tatum was visibly stoned.

If the rumor is true, it’s totally understandable. Smoking weed is all fine and good, but some modicum of professionalism is necessary for a good work environment.
