Trainor linked up with producer Kevin Kadish. He helped her write her breakout song “All About that Bass.” After performing the song on the ukelele for the chairman of Epic Recors, she was signed to the label.
The song was ultimately released on June 30, 2014, and it became a global sensation. The music video went viral, and it became one of the best-selling singles ever.
Her debut EP “Title” peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Top 200. Her debut major studio album of the same name was released in January of 2015, and peaked at number one.
She became the thirteenth female artist to debut a number one song and album. Trainor also won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist that year. She released her second album “Thank You” in 2016.
