Girl Uses Cannabis Oil Instead Of Surgery To Beat Cancer For The Third Time

Doctors told 21-year-old Jessica Olson she had cancer for the third time last year. Instead of surgery, she opted for cannabis oil and this is what happened.

21-year-old Jessica Olson was told by a doctor she had cancer for the third time last year. They said that she would have to undergo a debilitating surgery to remove a tumor that returned to her neck. However, Jess wasn’t ready to give up. She didn’t want to sit at home high all day or sick. She wanted to continue going to college for journalism and participate in things like dancing.

Jessica’s History With Cancer21-Year-Old Uses Cannabis Oil Instead Of Surgery To Beat Cancer For The Third Time

Jessica Olson was only 15 years old when she was first told that she had cancer. A lump in her neck turned her life as a normal high school student upside down. In 2011, she went through eight harsh rounds of chemo til she was cancer-free. To be considered cured, Jess would have to remain cancer-free for five years.

Four years later, right before she was in the clear, Jessica felt a new lump, this time under her jaw. She blames the radiation treatment that she received for not keeping her cancer-free. In May 2016, she had to have surgery to remove the new bump and 30 lymph nodes from her jaw. She hoped that she would remain cancer-free after the operation.

Cancer For The Third Time

Unfortunately, after already overcoming stage II Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkin’s Lymphoma twice, the third bout would kill Jessica if left untreated.

“Without the surgery, they gave me a couple of months, they said the tumor would grow out of my neck and into my mouth, basically I would die from suffocation,” Jess said.

The surgery only had a 10 percent survival rate. Worst of all, even if she did manage to survive against those odds, she would never be the same. So, she had a small shot at living a hard life.

“My doctor told me to go home, write a bucket list and plan how I wanted to be remembered because I had months to live at best,” the young survivor said.

How Cannabis Saved Her Life

That’s when Jessica turned to cannabis oil. Cannabis as a cure for cancer is no new topic. After raising $50,000 on her GoFundMe page, she began treating herself with cannabis oil. The highly concentrated oil was hard to find and expensive because marijuana is illegal where she lives in Sydney, Australia.

She dosed herself with marijuana concentrates three times a day for thirteen weeks straight. She needed $1,200 worth of oil every eight days. The oil made her sick and bed-ridden a few times, but it was all worth it.

Jessica returned to the doctors to see if the tumor had decreased in size. To her surprise, the results found that the tumor was gone. The CAT scan found absolutely no cancerous activity in her neck, prompting her surrounding family members to begin crying.

The battle was won, her family would have more time with her than they were told and Jess would get a shot at life as a normal college student again.

Final Hit

While Jessica’s story had a happy ending, many others suffering from cancer don’t have highly concentrated cannabis oils available to them. In fact, they’re illegal in most countries. Countries like Germany have legalized medical marijuana to save patients suffering from debilitating or life-threatening disease, and we hope the trend continues.
