Step 2: Cook It Down
- Combine the water, butter, and plant material in a slow cooker and cook on low for 8 – 24 hours. Low and slow, that’s the tempo.
- The longer, the better to fully decarboxylate (translation: activate) the THC. Try to keep the temperature between 200F – 250F.
- Be sure to stir the mixture periodically, adding water as necessary.
Note: If you don’t have a slow cooker, you can use a saucepan with a lid.
Cook on low for 2 – 3 hours. Stir occasionally and add water as necessary.
DON’T LET IT BOIL. The extra heat will destroy the THC, decreasing potency
