5 Ways To Clean A Grinder And Save Kief

Acrylic grinders can’t be washed in iso, so you’ll have to use soap and hot water to get it completely clean. You can also use this method with metal grinders, but it’s not recommended because they might rust.

Space cases are made of titanium, so they are more resilient to corrosion from water. However, most metal grinders are better off being cleaned with one of the previously listed methods. This method is obviously worse for collecting kief, but if you use the freezing and brushing methods first, most of it will be saved.

First, disassemble your grinder. Then, you can boil it for a few minutes or rinse in hot water. Place a small amount of dish soap on a rag or sponge and give the grinder a good scrubbing. If needed, use a q-tip, plastic pick, or toothpick to remove residue from hard to reach spots.

Give it one final rinse with warm water. Pat, it down with a towel because you don’t want any water in there during your first use after cleaning. Allow it to air dry, so none of your kief or weed gets soaked by the remaining water.

Not every part of the grinder will be effectively cleaned after using only the soap and water method. The screen can be cleaned by pouring salt and isopropyl alcohol on top and gently rubbing it on both sides. When you’re done cleaning the screen rinse, dry, and put all the pieces back together.
