How To Make Cannabis-Infused Chocolate-Peppermint Bark

  • 12 oz dark chocolate
  • 12 oz white chocolate
  • 2-4 tbsp cannabutter
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract

Other Equipment

  • Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Two large heat-safe glass bowls
  • Pot or saucepan
  • Water

Directions

1. Simmer Water

Fill the pot or saucepan halfway with water. Set it on the stove and bring the water to a simmer.

2. Melt the dark chocolate

Divide the chocolate into two equal portions. Set one half aside and put the other half in one of the glass bowls. Put the glass bowl on top of the pot with simmering water. Stir the chocolate until it’s melted. Then, take it off the heat. Little by little, but moving quickly, add the pieces of unmelted chocolate and stir until everything is melted. This is called tempering. It will give the finished product a snappier texture and look shinier.

3. Add the peppermint extract

Once the chocolate is melted, add 1/2 tsp of peppermint extract. Stir well.

4. Add the cannabutter

Then, add the cannabutter to your chocolate. Make sure that you stir it very well to ensure even distribution.

5. Spread it out

Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Using a rubber spatula, spread the chocolate so that forms a perfectly even layer.

6. Melt the white chocolate

Repeat the melting and tempering process with the white chocolate. Divide the white chocolate into two halves, melt in a glass bowl, temper when melted and stir in 1/2 tsp of peppermint extract. The only difference is you’re not adding cannabutter to the white chocolate.

7. Spread it out

Carefully pour the melted white chocolate onto the layer of dark chocolate. When you use your rubber spatula to even out the later of white chocolate, be extra careful not to created holes in either layer of chocolate.

8. Add the candy canes

When the white chocolate is still melted, sprinkle on the crushed up candy canes. Make sure it’s evenly distributed.

9. Cool it off

Finally, stick the baking sheet in the refrigerator. Keep it in there until the chocolate is fully hardened. This may take approximately two hours.

10. Cut it up

When the chocolate is completely set and hardened, use a sharp knife to cut the cannabis-infused chocolate-peppermint bark into even squares.
