This Man Stole A Human Brain And Used It To Get High

A 26-year-old man living in central Pennsylvania apparently stole a human brain and used it to get high. How was he getting high? Let’s find out.

Man Steals Brain To Get High?

This could very well be one of the sickest, most bizarre, WTF-worthy stories you’ll ever come across. A 26-year-old man living in central Pennsylvania apparently stole a human brain and used it to get high. This story is the weed-smoking version of Silence of the Lambs. It’s also proof that sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

The Details

This past summer, Joshua Lee Long was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse and conspiracy. His arrest came after his aunt made a freaky discovery while cleaning out a trailer. She found a brain stashed away in a department store bag. It turns out that her nephew, Joshua Lee Long, was the one keeping the mind.

Obviously, somehow getting your hands on a human brain and then keeping it in your house in a bag is pretty f*cking weird. But don’t worry, it gets even weirder. Long apparently named it Freddy. And it doesn’t stop there.

Long was keeping the brain because he wanted to use the embalming fluid it had been soaked in. And this is where all the getting high and weed-smoking business finally comes into the tale. Long was spraying the brain’s embalming fluid all over his weed before smoking it.

Embalming fluid contains the chemical formaldehyde. And when you smoke that stuff it can produce some pretty intense, pretty trippy highs. Smoking formaldehyde-soaked weed is sometimes called smoking “wet” or “fry.”

And while it can give people some pretty serious highs, it can also be extremely dangerous. The super intense highs can sometimes give people bad trips that can become harmful. And one study found that smoking cannabis laced with formaldehyde can lead to severe lung damage. To put it simply, smoking wet is one of those strange, bizarre, and dangerous things people do to get high.

Final Hit

And that’s apparently what Long was trying to do. As far as authorities can tell, that’s why he was keeping the human brain in his home. According to court documents, a coroner examined the remains and said it was a real human brain. So far, nobody knows whose brain it was. But officials think it’s probably a stolen medical specimen. From the sounds of things, Joshua Lee Long is the weed-smoking version of Buffalo Bill.
