Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party
The show brings Martha Stewart, a 75-year-old ex-convict slash home decor guru and Snoop Dogg, a 44-year-old rapper together for a celebrity cooking show. The show should air on VH1 under the title Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party. The show will premiere fall of this year.
Martha claims the dinner party will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertainment, and celebrities. Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party will bring a twist to the traditional food competition tv shows.
Why pair Snoop Dogg with Martha Stewart for a Cooking Show?
Perhaps American Reality Television has a thing for unlikely duos. Snoop and Martha also have a history.
Snoop Dogg told GRD, “my homegirl, Martha and I have a special bond that goes back. We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together!”
This will be far from the first time we’ve seen these two personalities appear side by side on television. In fact, this won’t even be the first time we’ve seen the two together cooking on television.
Snoop was a guest on Martha’s show twice, both times he helped her cook. Once when he helped her make her mother’s mashed potato recipe.
And another time when he helped her make brownies that to he believed were lacking a key ingredient. “No sticks, no seeds, no stems, hopefully” he says, quoting a line from one of his rap verses in Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E.”
During the Roast of Justin Bieber, Snoop and Martha were seated next to each other. The real reason for the upcoming show may have been revealed when she told the crowd at the roast “one of the highest-rated episodes on my show, ‘Martha Stewart Living,’ was when Snoop and I made brownies together.”
Stewart might be hoping for another hit with Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party. She might also be looking forward to another hit of Snoop’s weed since Jeff Ross claimed he shotgunned some of Snoop’s weed into Martha’s mouth. This happened after Snoop and Ross found Stewart when they went to the back to “decompress a little bit.” That’s when Ross decided to get “Martha Stewart a little stoned.”
Stewart and Snoop were seen together on ABC’s “100,000 Pyramid” as well. In retrospect, the two have an extensive history of working together, they’re cooking up something good for VH1.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg, two of pop culture’s biggest icons,” said VH1 and Logo president Chris McCarthy. “Good parties are filled with fun, food, and unexpected guests. Wait til you see what happens at ‘Martha and Snoop’s Dinner Party’, it will be unforgettable.” We hope Snoop gets to use the ingredients he desires this time and he gets to share the final product with Stewart and celebrity guests. We’ll have to wait until the fall to see Martha, Snoop, and guests turn up and possibly compete in a cooking competition show.
