Nevada has run out of weed and California is facing the opposite problem: they have way too much. How can growers deal with the surplus?

Earlier this month, the Maine-based medical center Summit Medical Marijuana held a volunteer event with a sweet incentive: free weed.

The event centered around picking up trash in their community. A town in Colorado hosted a similar event. In light of the surplus, California growers could team up with local organizations to plan a series of volunteer events.

They could join forces with nonprofit organizations, animal shelters, youth centers, and clean-up groups to entice Californians to step up and come together to make a positive impact in their communities.
