Ricky, Bubbles and Julian finally found a way to grow dope in peace.

The implementation of recreational marijuana laws in Canada is expected to happen in the next few months. Thanks to the changing laws, the Trailer Park Boys are entering the legal cannabis industry. The boys are partnering with OrganiGram so they can grow and sell dope without Jim Lahey or the local police showing up to take them back to jail.

TPB Productions is actually owned by the actors that played Bubbles, Ricky and Julian. Mike Smith, Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay manage all intellectual property rights associated with the show and brand. The company is based out of Nova Scotia, Canada where the show was filmed.

OrganiGram Inc. is a licensed producer of medical marijuana in Canada. They plan to enter the recreational market with their Trailer Park Boys partnership. They’re a step closer with the announcement of their new Trailer Park Buds line.

Purpose of Partnership

In 2016, OrganiGram put out a press release that stated the Trailer Park Boys chose them as their exclusive cannabis producer, business partner and brand developer.

“This relationship solidifies one of our strategic building blocks as we plan for the legalization of recreational use in Canada. The team at Trailer Park Boys have an aligned vision to develop a National brand with our assistance and we’re incredibly excited at how the partnership will come to life,” said Ray Gracewood, Chief Commercial Officer at OrganiGram.

OrganiGram has been serving the medical marijuana market for years. They are also planning to unveil a number of recreational marijuana brands including one for fans of the Trailer Park Boys.

“Our recreational strategy incorporates the best of what we know about our current and potential customers, the industry and opportunities for growth, and the production of our premium products,” said Greg Engel, CEO of OrganiGram. “The addition of each of these brands is the result of more than 18 months of research, development and teamwork to better understand our products and consumers.”

The result of the partnership is the development of a subsidiary dedicated to recreational cannabis. The Trailer Park Buds brand will be bringing flowers, pre-rolls and blended products to federally-licensed retail establishments when recreational laws take effect.

According to OrganiGrams website, the brand is targeting “consumers who appreciate a sense of humor and don’t take themselves too seriously.” Adding that the company is “focused on a value-conscious consumer who appreciates quality.”

According to draft rules released in advance of Canada’s legalization, cannabis packaging can only contain one brand element other than the product’s name. Any symbols must be smaller than the government’s octagon-shaped warning label.

The packaging rules will limit how much the Trailer Park Boys brand will be visible to consumers prior to purchasing but that hasn’t stopped OrganiGram from pushing their partnership forward.

OrganiGram formerly faced backlash when their medical marijuana products tested positive for banned pesticides. Since then, the company has been subject to stricter pesticide testing. Now, the company says it is focused on producing the highest quality, condition-specific medical marijuana for patients in Canada.

The boys making money from selling legal weed is a great way to conclude the antics in Sunnyvale Trailer Park. The Trailer Park Boys show circled around Ricky and Julian’s trips in and out of jail. Not to mention, constant get-rich-quick schemes which usually involved the growing and selling of dope. Legalization is the only organic happy ending we could imagine for the Canadian three stooges.
