Does Charlie Sheen smoke weed? That is the question of the day. The actor, who has been in the public eye for both good and bad, is one of the most iconic “bad boys” in Hollywood. He certainly has been candid about his drug use and various other problems but is he a stoner? We looked into it. Let’s see if Sheen blazes.

Who is Charlie Sheen?

Sheen has most recently been the eye of public scrutiny for a tasteless trailer for the upcoming movie “9/11,” in which he’s set to star in alongside Whoopi Goldberg. However, this is far from the first time Sheen has been part of a controversy.

Sheen’s personal affairs have always been subject to headlines, as he’s been pretty candid about his life. He’s admitted to drug and alcohol abuse and has been the subject of domestic abuse allegations. In 2015, Sheen also admitted to being HIV positive, something that he was diagnosed with back in 2011.

Born Carlos Estevez, Charlie Sheen is the son of famous actor Martin Sheen. He rose to fame during the 1980’s with a string of hit films including “Wall Street,” “Young Guns,” “Eight Men Out,” and “Major League.”

His work as an A-list actor continued throughout the 90’s. It included “Hot Shots!,”
“The Three Musketeers,” “Being John Malkovich,” and the third, fourth, and fifth “Scary Movie” films.

However, the role he is most famous for is that of Charlie Harper on the CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men.” He starred on the show for eight seasons, and in 2010 was the highest paid actor in television. Sheen was dismissed from the show in 2011 after criticisms toward show creator Chuck Lorre. Sheen was also going through his third rehab stint in 12 months at the time. It was during this time Sheen had a public meltdown, which eventually spawned plenty of memes. Remember “Winning?”

Puff or Pass?

It’s pretty tough to imagine a party-boy like Sheen not smoking weed. However, he is known to love his uppers, so perhaps weed isn’t his drug of choice. Or is it?

For starters, there’s literally a strain of marijuana called Charlie Sheen. Back in 2012, Sheen told Playboy magazine he was “honored” that there was a strain named after him. He also added he was surprised because he wasn’t necessarily a huge weed smoker:

They now sell pot named after me in the dispensaries. And I’m not even a pot guy. I was so honored.

Sheen added that he did indeed try the strain:

The quality’s fine. There’s too much quality, if anything. I couldn’t feel my hands after a while. I smoked some with a friend, and she said, ‘What a trip. I’m with Charlie Sheen smoking Charlie Sheen.’

More recently, Sheen admitted to smoking cannabis just last year. In an interview with Piers Morgan, Sheen said this: “I don’t do well on pot. I smoked pot like a week ago, right. It was just one hit, nobody was there, I was like, ‘F**k it, I’m bored.’ I called the guy at the gate at like 3 am.”

He continued: “I was like, ‘Hey Alex, it’s Sheen. Could you come down here for a minute, I just don’t wanna be alone right now?’ We’d met like once. I brought him down because the pot these days is so god damn strong. I thought I was dying.”
