Mendocino Purps sometimes called Mendo Purps or simply The Purps, is a well-known strain coming out of the California cannabis scene. After getting all sorts of recognition at the High Times Cannabis Cup in both 2007 and 2009, Mendocino Purps has established itself as a go-to Indica strain.

Expect a bud of this strain to have anywhere from 13.5% THC to 20% THC. That range can be significantly higher than other Indica strains. And that higher than average THC content plays a big role in the kinds of effects this one produces.

Genetics

Mendocino Purps grew out of a pure landrace USA Indica. For a while, it was a clone-only plant. But growers at BC Bud Depot eventually developed a line they could get seeds out of.

This strain grows fairly well both indoors and outdoors. If you’re growing it inside, expect the plant to get 3-4 four feet high. And if it’s outside, it can grow to as high as 6-8 feet.

Mendocino Purps plants start flowering around 8-9 weeks. Later in the growing cycle, as the plant reaches full maturity, the leaves start taking on a beautiful purplish color.
