Here’s How Much An Ounce Of Weed Costs In Your State

Here’s a quick breakdown of how much an ounce of weed costs state by state with stats taken from the Price of Weed global index.

For those of us who are lucky enough to live in a weed-friendly state, life is good! Forget your fave college or hometown dealer. Weed is so much more affordable when bought from a dispensary. And it’s always higher quality. But for those lucky legal states, how does the price match up and compare? And for those of us who aren’t so lucky, how much can we expect to pay per ounce? Remember, these are only estimations for medium to high-quality weed. (Why smoke anything else?) Here’s a quick breakdown of how much an ounce of weed costs state by state with stats taken from the Price of Weed global index:

Alabama

Weed is shockingly expensive in Alabama, and it’s not really surprising since the South tends to be very anti-cannabis. For high-quality weed, expect to pay $342 on average per ounce, and for medium quality, $227 per ounce. Ouch. Law enforcement for cannabis is heavily enforced throughout the Heart of Dixie, so be cautious.

Alaska

Anti-cannabis legislation is fairly strongly enforced in this cold, northern cousin of ours. Expect to pay around $300 per ounce for high or medium quality weed.

Arizona

You can expect to pay anywhere from $227 per ounce for medium quality weed, or $342 for high-quality weed. Arizonans are in the middle when it comes to accepting cannabis culture.

Arkansas

Once you’re in the Ozarks region, you’ll probably pay $232 per ounce for medium quality weed and $339 per ounce for high-quality weed in Arkansas. Not so bad, considering it’s illegal here.

California

Thankfully, recreational weed is legal in California, which brings the prices down a bit. However, there are limitations, and the laws are strongly enforced. You’ll pay around $204 per ounce for medium quality weed and $248 per ounce for high quality.

Colorado

Good old Colorado, home of legalized cannabis! For medium quality weed, you’ll pay around $200 per ounce. And for high-quality bud, just about $42 more.

Connecticut

Bud is a bit pricier here. Medium quality will cost you around $280 per ounce, while high quality is sold for around $336 an ounce.

Delaware

Those who live in Delaware pay around $261 for medium quality weed, and $345 for high quality. Pricey!

District of Columbia

It’s not technically a state, but cannabis is finally legal in D.C.! However, you can expect to pay a premium. Weed costs on average a whopping $500-600 per ounce in the district! We hope those rich senators spread the wealth among the masses…eventually.

Florida

Inside the Sunshine State, you can get medium quality bud for about $225 per ounce, and high quality for closer to $300 an ounce.

Georgia

Cannabis legislation is heavily enforced here, but the prices aren’t too bad. Expect to pay anywhere from $232 an ounce for medium quality weed to $319 an ounce for high quality.
