It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t love a good brownie, no matter their dietary and health preferences. Chocolate is nearly irresistible. And of course, mixing delicious chocolate gooeyness with cannabis is no strange combination to us. But when you make a pot brownie, the recipe simply substitutes cannabutter for normal butter. But what about a vegan recipe? Well, tested and tried, here is a vegan pot brownie recipe that is healthy and doesn’t taste like sh*t.

Coconut Cannabis Oil

How to Make Vegan Pot Brownies that Don't Taste like Sh*t

This recipe calls for coconut cannabis oil. So if you don’t already have coconut cannabis oil at the ready, here’s how to make it. Warning: this part takes up to 18 hours. But once it’s done, you’ll have a jar full of coconut cannabis oil in solid form or to melt down as a liquid.

Ingredients and Tools

Crockpot

5 cups of distilled water

2 ounces of cannabis, finely ground

1 cup of organic coconut oil

Cheese cloth or strainer

Tupperware or mason jar

Step 1

Melt coconut oil in crock pot on the lowest setting.

(No crock pot? Use cast iron or heavy bottomed, thick-walled pot. Make sure temperature does not exceed 320 degrees Fahrenheit.)

Step 2

Add cannabis and water when coconut oil has melted and mixed.

Step 3

Turn crock pot up to high. Stir frequently for 1 hour.

Step 4

After an hour, turn the crock pot down to low. Steep the mixture and stir every hour. After 12-18 hours, turn off crock pot and let cool, but not solidify.

Step 5

When still warm, pour over cheese cloth or strainer into jar or Tupperware. Make sure to squeeze all the liquid from the ground weed. Cover container and place in refrigerator overnight.

Step 6

Remove the hardened oil from discarded water and it’s done! The coconut cannabis oil can be used in many different weed recipes.

250g plain white flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

pinch of salt

1 banana, peeled and mashed

230g caster sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

140g dark chocolate (70%), broken into pieces

4 tablespoons coconut cannabis oil

1 tablespoon agave nectar

60g dark chocolate chips

120g walnuts chopped

powdered sugar to dust (optional)

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease baking tray with vegan margarine or baking spray and line with baking parchment.

Step 2

Mix flour, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl. Set this aside for later.

Step 3

In a separate medium bowl, combine mashed banana, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix.

Step 4

In a small pan, boil some water and bring to a simmer. Place a heatproof bowl in the pan and put chocolate, coconut cannabis oil, and agave in the bowl. Melt together until smooth and glossy. Pour chocolate into the banana mix and stir.

Step 5

Pour chocolate mixture into flour mixture, fold thoroughly until everything is combined smoothly. Then put in chocolate chips and walnuts. Fold the mixture but make sure not to overwork the batter.

Step 6

Pour into prepared baking tray and bake in the oven for 25 minutes. When done, allow brownies to cool before dusting with powdered sugar.
