Weed is a Gateway Drug
What this argument boils down to is evidence and truth of the matter is, there is none. The only link between marijuana and using hard, illicit substances is that they’ve been categorized together for years.
Due to its prohibition, cannabis was forced into the illegal drug trade with other substances such as heroin and cocaine. This accounts for people’s misconception about the nature of the marijuana. With that in mind, correlation is not causation.
People assume that means if you try one you will try them all. This is simply not a scientific fact but conjecture. Marijuana has quite the opposite effect; many who use cannabis are more likely to use other natural remedies and holistic lifestyles, in fact leading to a healthier life.
