Sleep aids like Ambien are sedatives used to treat people with insomnia, a disorder characterized by difficulty sleeping.

While the potential for abuse is relatively small with drugs of this kind, the side effects are still quite dangerous. Sleepwalking in people who otherwise don’t do so is fairly common, and even instances of “sleep driving” have been reported many times. For obvious reasons, that’s something you’d want to avoid if at all possible.

Of all the effects of marijuana, making users sleepy is among the most well-known of them. The science just confirms what everyone already knows: cannabis use not only helps you fall asleep quickly, but it improves the quality of your sleep as well.
