Arkansas
The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Initiative has been rejected 7 times. This illustrates a clear distaste for marijuana in Arkansas, even for medicinal purposes. The Arkansas Attorney General, Leslie Rutledge has rejected 7 marijuana ballots since taking office 2 years ago.
Her latest reason was because the ballot initiative contained “ambiguous language.” David Couch, the attorney responsible for the most recent proposal, has had two other proposals get rejected because of ambiguous language as well.
The Arkansans Compassionate Care initiative has obtained 55,000 out of the 67,887 signatures that would be required to get the initiative on the 2016 November ballot. So perception of cannabis in Arkansas may soon change.
