Celebrities busted for marijuana use

In the past week, several celebrities were caught green-handed. Among them, teenage celeb: Frankie Jonas. He was probably smoking weed during his Thanksgiving break. They weren’t the only ones prepping their appetite for turkey dinner. In fact, marijuana sales spiked during Thanksgiving. Additionally, an NFL player faces suspension after testing positive for cannabis in the same week. Here are the celebrities who recently faced heat for their pot usage:

Frankie Jonas

The youngest Jonas brother, Frankie Jonas received a citation for possession of weed in Nashville last Tuesday. Maybe he picked the habit up from his older brothers. Joe Jonas told ABC news that he smoked weed with Miley Cyrus.

“The first time I smoked weed was with Demi and Miley,” Jonas said. “I must have been 17 or 18. They kept saying, ‘Try it! Try it!’ so I gave it a shot, and it was all right. I don’t even smoke weed that often anymore.”

It seems like pot use is common among young stars. Fortunately for 16-year-old Frankie Jonas, Nashville passed a city measure in September that reduced penalties for small amounts of marijuana. So, he shouldn’t be in too much trouble.

Patriots’ Alan Branch

The defensive tackle of the New England Patriots, Alan Branch is receiving a four-day suspension. The suspension is for violating the NFL’s heavily-criticized drug policy. A tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter claims Branch tested positive for marijuana.

Branch is appealing the decision. Snoop Dogg would probably have his back. A few months ago snoop recorded a rant video telling the NFL to let Ezekiel Elliot smoke weed. He said “the NFL is stupid for trippin’ over motherf***ing weed.”

Elliot hadn’t even been caught smoking weed. He was under fire for simply walking into a dispensary. NFL players are putting their careers on the line every time they smoke weed. Unfortunately, some of them actually need weed to aid head injuries they got in the NFL. Research shows that cannabis can heal brain injuries suffered by NFL players, but they can’t legally use it.

Madonna’s Son, Rocco Ritchie

This week news just surfaced about Madonna’s son getting caught with weed during a drug bust. The 16-year-old got snitched on by his rich Primrose Hill neighbors in North London. They claimed to see him “smoking or doing drugs” near his own home. Officers on scene noticed traces of marijuana on his clothes. Then, they searched him and found a small amount of pot in his possession.

Madonna commented on her son’s arrest saying “I love my son very much. I will do whatever I can to give him the support that he needs, and I ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”

Earlier this year, she lost a custody battle for Rocco to his father, Guy Ritchie. One of her reasons for wanting custody of Rocco was that “as the disciplinarian , she felt Guy was way too permissive.” Sounds like she was right. Her son has been seen jumping off a balcony into a pool, drinking liquor and smoking weed with friends under bridges in London.
