Miley Cyrus Quits Weed For Now

In a surprising twist, Miley Cyrus quits weed. The former Disney star and pop singer made it clear that she is not afraid to reinvent herself at any point. We’ve seen her go from Hannah Montana to rocking unicorn outfits with strap-ons on stage. Now she’s going from being the stoner that threw a weed-themed birthday party earlier this year to completely sober.

What Happened?

A little over a month ago Miley decided to quit smoking weed and drinking because she’s too busy. According to her, it’s the longest she’s ever gone without it. For anyone worried they might have a hard time quitting, Miley has a message: “It’s easy, dude.”

The singer told the Kyle and Jackie O show that she was too busy to be “munching at home and playing video games,” as if that’s all smoking weed entails. Maybe she was hitting the kush hard and getting too stoned.

The singer seems to have forgotten the joy that sparked her obsession with cannabis. Now she’s reinforcing the negative stereotypes about smoking pot on radio shows.

It doesn’t end there. She added that she likes to surround herself with people that make her “want to get better, more evolved, open,” and “not the people that are stoned.”

Ouch. We hope the change isn’t permanent. We miss the old Miley, the weed advocate Miley.

The Old Miley

Miley Cyrus quits weed isn’t a headline we expected to see anytime soon. She recently praised Snoop Dogg for providing the weed at a “joint” birthday party for her boyfriend and sister.

Similarly, at her own 19th birthday party she got a Bob Marley cake and said, “you know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake.”

“You know you smoke way too much f***ing weed!” she added.

Earlier this year her Instagram featured pictures of her with a joint, smoking a bong, and the complimentary weed table at her party. So why exactly is she stopping now?

“I’m not digging smoking right now because I really want to be as present as possible and being able to be as here as I possibly can be,” Cyrus commented.

Fortunately, the new Miley hasn’t completely distanced herself from the lifestyle. The 24-year-old singer says she still “rolls them joints” for her friends.

“I still roll the joints for them!” she said to the hosts of SiriusXM’s Hits 1 in Hollywood. “I just sit there. I roll fat joints, too.”

Final Hit

Let this be a reminder to us all that anything can happen. “When Miley Cyrus quits weed” and “when pigs fly” were once synonymous to us. It may be the case again sometime because she hinted that the change could be temporary:

“I always say, I never make promises, I’m not a good person to say forever, but with my schedule… Right now is not a good time for me.”

Microdosing can help, Miley! It’s the best way to get the benefits of marijuana without the negatives.
