7. Representative Allen Peake (R-GA)

While the Deep South has a bad rap for opposing weed, Representative Allen Peake is not in that camp. The Republican representative was actually important in passing Georgia’s first and only medical cannabis bill. It was called Haleigh’s Hope Act. He even took it one step further to help patients by introducing House Bill 885, which allowed cannabis oil to be produced in the state.

Not only that, but in 2015 Representative Peake stated that he is so eager to help families who need weed, he’s willing to risk going to prison. Now that’s dedication to a cause! One more Republican part of the politicians who support cannabis.
