Super Silver Haze

Overview

Super Silver Haze is a classic on the cannabis scene. During the 1990s this strain was mopping up the competition, winning all sorts of awards and honors. And it’s just as good today as it was back then. Delivering an interesting and complex flavor profile and a powerful cerebral high, Super Silver Haze could be your next go-to strain.

Potency

Super Silver Haze averages a higher THC content than other Sativa strains. Most buds are anywhere between 16% THC and 23% THC. Other Sativa strains average right around 13% or so.

Effects

This is where Super Silver Haze shines. Expect a powerful and relatively long lasting head high. A few puffs and you’ll find yourself feeling energetic, happy, uplifted, and euphoric. If you’re lucky, you might even start experiencing some slightly psychedelic sensations. Many users report a heightened sense of color and sound.

As your high deepens you’ll also start experiencing a mellow body high. This relaxation and mellowness is the perfect complement to all the cerebral effects of this strain. Taken together, Super Silver Haze will give you a seriously one of a kind smoking experience.

Scent & Flavor

The complexity of the various effects this strain produces echoes in its scent and flavor profiles. When you start breaking apart a nug, you’ll notice an interesting mix of spicy, skunky, slightly citrusy smells. That blend carries over into the smoke, which offers a subtle combination of earthiness and sweetness.

Negative Effects

For some users, the cerebral effects of Super Silver Haze can be a bit much. Possible adverse effects include headaches, paranoia, dizziness, and anxiety.

Used For

You can use this strain pretty much any time of day. While the head high will leave you feeling energetic and creative, you may still lack the focus you need for super intense tasks. Just test it out and see how well you do.

Besides that, though, this is an excellent choice for times when you need a little pick me up, or for days that you need a little spark of creative inspiration. It’s also perfect for social settings, and will leave you and your friends feeling giggly, happy, and uplifted.

For medical uses, try it for fatigue, migraines, mood disorders, and depression. If you get the body high side of things particularly strong, it could also be a good way to treat chronic aches and pains.

Genetics

Super Silver Haze is the offspring of three solid strains: Northern Lights, Haze, and Skunk #1. Growers first bred it at Shantibaba and Neville. You can get Super Silver Haze seeds from Mr. Nice Seedbank.

Cultivation

This strain is probably not the best pick for beginner growers. But if you know your way around a cannabis plant, then this could be an excellent strain to try growing.

It does best in hydroponic systems, but can also be grown successfully outdoors or in greenhouses. Try growing it with the Sea of Green method.

Depending on how and where you grow it, expect flowers to show up anywhere from 8 to 11 weeks. Buds are green with reddish-orangish hairs and a beautiful coating of milky white trichomes.
