Ireland Opens First CBD Shop In Dublin

Stores across the globe are opening their doors to sell the non-psychoactive component of cannabis.

Medical marijuana is slowly coming out of the shadows in Ireland. Now, patients who live in Dublin and who would like to use medical cannabis are finally seeing some new options become available. The city’s first ever CBD shop, CBD Relieve, recently opened. The store is providing access to a range of medicinal cannabis products.

CBD Relieve Comes to Dublin

Dublin’s new medical marijuana store is called CBD Relieve. The shop is located in St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, which is one of downtown Dublin’s most popular retail locations.

According to local news sources, the store will sell only CBD products. This will reportedly include everything from CBD capsules to CBD tinctures and even a range of CBD topicals.

Similarly, the shop will carry a range of CBD oils. It will also sell isolates that contain very high levels of the CBD cannabinoid.

The shop is now open for business. As a result, medical marijuana patients in the Dublin area can purchase CBD products.

People can also visit the shop to learn more about CBD and how to use it to treat different conditions. Additionally, patients can get advice on finding the right CBD product for their needs.

Cannabis in Ireland

In many ways, the opening of CBD Relieve represents the latest development in Ireland’s cannabis scene. At the moment, recreational weed remains illegal everywhere in Ireland.

While prohibition remains in full effect, there have been some advancements made in the realm of medical cannabis. For example, in 2016 a bill to legalize medical uses of marijuana was approved by important legislative branches. Currently, some limited cases can receive approval from the Minister of Health to use medical marijuana.

Fortunately for patients interested in medicinal cannabis, CBD is fully legal to consume in Ireland.

“Cannabidiol is a non-controlled substance in the UK and is classified as a food supplement,” CBD Relieve’s website said. “Analysis reports can be provided with every batch we produce demonstrating no trace of THC.”

Ireland’s stance on CBD is more or less in line with broader laws throughout the European Union. According to EU law, CBD is legal as long as there is less than 0.02% of THC present in the final product.

Although this law obviously bars actual cannabis, it allows patients to medicate with products that contain isolated forms of CBD.

From the sounds of things, patients can now purchase and use CBD for any medical condition they want. There does not appear to be a list of qualifying conditions that a person must have to access medical CBD.

Rather, it can be purchased and used freely, either to treat a particular condition or as a more general health or dietary supplement.

CBD has shown promise in effectively treating a number of disorders and other medical conditions. These include things like chronic pain, depression, insomnia, stress, epilepsy, anxiety and panic attacks, and arthritis.

Additionally, the cannabinoid could also help with a number of neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. Further, CBD may also provide relief for gastrointestinal problems like inflammatory bowel disease.
