2. South Dakota
South Dakota is definitely one of the worst states to get caught with weed. If you are busted with two ounces or less, it’s a misdemeanor.
You could get up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine. If you have more than two ounces, you’re facing a felony. It could get you a full year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Finally, selling weed within 1,000 feet of a school will get you in some big-time trouble. That one has a mandatory minimum of five years behind bars.
