Mendocino Purps Strain
Mendocino Purps sometimes called Mendo Purps or simply The Purps, is a well-known strain coming out of the California cannabis scene. After getting all sorts of recognition at the High Times Cannabis Cup in both 2007 and 2009, Mendocino Purps has established itself as a go-to Indica strain.
Expect a bud of this strain to have anywhere from 13.5% THC to 20% THC. That range can be significantly higher than other Indica strains. And that higher than average THC content plays a big role in the kinds of effects this one produces.
If you’re smoking The Purps get ready to be couch locked, Mendocino Purps are known for delivering a knockout body high. If you’re a newbie or a lightweight start with only a puff or two, but even if you’re an experienced user, a few good tokes will leave you happily zonked out on the couch for hours.
The body high you’ll get from this strain is accompanied by a pleasant feeling of happiness and relaxation. Taken together, your mood will be elevated, and you’ll be feeling happily lazy on the couch.
Scent & Flavor
Mendocino Purps has a sweet odor that smells faintly like berries. That sweetness carries over into the taste of the smoke, which also takes on a slight taste of coffee and wood.
The most notable adverse effects of Mendocino Purps typically only come after a massive dose. In that case, you may experience dizziness, headaches, and maybe some slight paranoia. That’s especially true if you’re new to cannabis or if you have a relatively low tolerance level.
Mendocino Purps is perfect for evening and night time use. Don’t use this one if you’ve got anything still on your schedule, because after a few puffs you’re not going anywhere.
The pronounced body high of Mendocino Purps make it perfect for treating insomnia and all sorts of aches and pains. The mood elevating properties of the strain also make it an excellent choice for managing stress, anxiety, and some mood disorders.
Mendocino Purps grew out of a pure landrace USA Indica. For a while, it was a clone-only plant. But growers at BC Bud Depot eventually developed a line they could get seeds out of.
Mendocino Purps plants start flowering around 8-9 weeks. Later in the growing cycle, as the plant reaches full maturity, the leaves start taking on a beautiful purplish color.
