CBD Store Opens In Wichita

Yet another example of the compounds increasing acceptance within the medical community.

Although medicinal cannabis legalization has ramped up, smoking the plant in its natural form has not been fully embraced—yet. However, CBD, the non-psychoactive component of cannabis, has begun to garner more and more acceptance amongst the medical community.

Although cannabidiol still isn’t met with total universal approval, it’s been proven to help with a variety of disorders such as nausea/ vomitingseizures, diabetes, MS, arthritis, depression, anxiety and certain forms of cancer, amongst others.

The variety of medical benefits from CBD has convinced even come of the most anti-weed states to embrace the component. One such example is Kansas, where CBD is permitted for users, so long as it contains 0% THC (the psychoactive component of cannabis that gets users high). In fact, a new CBD store in Wichita Kansas has just opened up shop. The owners of The Health Connection hope that their product will open new medical doors for its patients.

Owner Natalie Greenlee told Wichita’s local ABC affiliate outlet that her store’s products provide a healthier alternative to most common medications.

“What’s nice about our products is it works with the natural cannabinoid system in your body and it sets those receptors off in your body and your body starts healing itself,” Greenlee said.

Greenlee’s father, Vernon Hammond, who co-owns the shop, says he has been taking CBD for years. He credits the compound for his now-pristine health. According to Hammond, CBD helped him do an entire 180, in terms of overall health.

“I’ve been taking CBD for about four years,” said Hammond. “I was on four prescriptions. I weighed 260 pounds. I mean, I was a typical old guy gonna die in 10 years. I had early stages of COPD; my doctor says I’m good now.”

Additionally, one of the store’s new customers, Ashley Pompa, told ABC she prefers the non-psychoactive compound to typical over the counter stuff like Benadryl. Pompa suffers from anxiety and insomnia, but that too has subsided since the CBD store came into play.

“I rely on Benadryl a lot which is super not healthy,” she said. ” I’ve seen first hand what medications and things like that do to people.”

In addition to its wide array of CBD products, The Health Connection will also offer educational classes for those unfamiliar with the compound. However, it’s no secret it’s the real deal.

“I think in the long run it’ll be a lot better for me,” Pompa said.

Attorney General Derek Schmidt has expressed his desire to shut CBD shops down. Fortunately, the CBD store is safe for now and you can still visit The Health Connection at 1709 W Douglas Wichita, KS 67213.
