Step 4: Fill Your Bong With Salt
Now take some salt and pour it liberally into your bong. You can pour it in whichever opening is easiest – that’ll probably be the mouthpiece.
Alternatively, you may need to pour in the salt through the opening for the bowl. In that case, a funnel may be helpful.
You’ll probably want about 1/2 a cup of salt before you move on to the next step, but don’t be afraid to use more than that. Once that’s done, grab some rubbing alcohol.
Step 5: Fill Your Bong With Rubbing Alcohol

Pour in the rubbing alcohol the same way you did the salt. While the amount you’ll need will vary depending on the size of your bong, another 1/2 a cup is a good starting point.
Once that’s done, you’ll now have a bong that is ready to be cleaned.
Step 6: Shake Vigorously
This is when you’ll want to put on your latex gloves if you’ve got them. Cover all the openings of your bong with your hands, so the alcohol and salt solution doesn’t leak out, and shake your glassware vigorously.
You’ll want to adjust the angle regularly, so the cleaning solution reaches every nook and cranny of your bong.
Play your favorite song and shake away until it’s over; you’ll want to be sloshing around the alcohol for at least 5 minutes.
